Japanese Hotel Packaging
The task was to develop two packaging series for the hotel sector. The theme could be chosen freely and so I decided for a hotel with Japanese flair. One series is intended for the storage of bathroom articles. The other one keeps typical Japanese snacks. The formal language uses origami folding art.
The usual hotel packaging should be avoided in order to offer the guest innovative and clever packaging. These are to be created in coordination with the respective room concept, both in form and function as well as in material selection and design.
The architecture of the form is strongly reminiscent of and inspired by origami folding art. The complete food set consists of traditional Japanese snacks, sushi and chopsticks as well as a soft drink made of green tea. The tension of the folding acts as a closing mechanism.
Trial and Error. Looking for a form that is based on Japanese folding art but should be less complex.
This is coordinated with the content, but the overall picture must be stringent.

The packaging is variable in size. The large box for two persons, the small box for one person. A stylized cloud serves as the graphical element. This is a frequently used motif in Japanese pictorial art.
